The Crew is back from our Annual TNNA (The National Needlework Association) show and are we ever excited! New canvases, new fibers, and new techniques (the girls learned so much at the technique classes--we can hardly wait to share!)
We purchased hundreds of designs, some of them from new artists. We were able to bring some new canvases home with us, which is a bargain to boot! The purses and new finishing ideas were awesome! We can't wait for you to see them!
We also were fortunate to happen across a new artist and The Gate is one of only two shops to carry these canvases. Our first shipment has already arrived and the canvases are terrific.
The Scoop on the Cruise
Ahoy! We have a date set for our Cruise 2010. We will be sailing on our first annual fun-filled Cruise aboard the Carnival Cruise Lines Paradise to Mexico, departing from Long Beach on April 23, 2010. The crew at The Gate has been busy planning and stitching for this event. Aboard the ship you will have the opportunity to enjoy the wonderful food, numerous activities, and of course, stitching the wonderful needlepoint canvas designed by Cheryl Schaeffer and stitched by our own Shelley Mullin.
Shelley will be holding a class on Saturday from 10am to 3pm to give instructions on our Cruise 2010 canvas. Judi, our fabulous finisher, is also planning a class on twist cords and tassels. She will be providing a handy tool that she uses in her workroom so that you can make your own professional twist cords. How cool is that!
Sunday will be a day of just stitching where you can work on your piece with the instructions from the day before. So…for details and to reserve your space on the cruise, please contact SEACruises at 800-795-1008 or visit their website at www.seacruises.com/GGN. The cost of our three night cruise is $365 for an inside cabin or $400 for an ocean view cabin—both based on double occupancy. A $100 deposit is required by Saturday, December 19. The canvas and supplies will be sold separately and can be picked up at out Cruise 2010 document delivery party here at The Gate. Put this on your “Wish List” for sure!
